W34 – 18 Mar 2024 – UPDATE 1 – Social

I’ll contact a UN official today and explain the plan mentioned a few days ago about severe hunger in Sudan.

This will be implemented in a few big online retailers at first. People can be incentivized to purchase selected goods for people in famine worldwide. The idea is that instead of charities spending 100$ for example to buy food, that amount can be distributed as an incentive among customers buying selected goods for charity purposes. More precisely, customers buying those charity goods will be more likely to get discount offers for their next purchases. So charities run a marketing campaign with a portion of the funds they have instead of directly using that fund to buy goods. This way the fund will be multiplied.

This is a scheme to push people to spend a small amount of money for charity on every online purchase they make. After some time this might turn into a normal attitude among people to donate a small amount whenever they buy something.

UPDATE 1:

This scheme will then be linked to the other micro-investment plan discussed previously. So instead of random discounts, donors will get investment offers on that platform.
