I’ll be moving to a new hotel today. The day I arrived in Istanbul, I tried to use several GPS apps but non of them worked. So in some ways, I was pushed to use Google Maps and I’ve been using that ever since. This was my first experience using it because I used to use other apps in the past but since they were local and global apps stopped working I had to use Google Maps on this trip. This is a very practical app, no doubt. The issue is the centralization of technology which should definitely be avoided in the future. So being pushed to use Google Maps and trying to decentralize technology are different issues and shouldn’t be confused with one another.
The other issue is that when I travel alone, I do it my way.
I think I’ll go to Izmit on Saturday. I plan to stay in each city for around a week.
