W21 – 23 Dec 2023 – UPDATE 1 – Diary

Netanyahu cannot openly admit two things: A) he and his allies aim to entirely remove Palestinians from their land by mass killings and other tactics because that’s genocide and B) they oppose international initiatives that aim to block military actions against Israel, because that would be contradictive. Those initiatives are really bad for the far-right but they can’t admit it.

If people a hardliner becomes president in the next election, there will be more hurdles for the international initiative, that’s bad for Americans because this is a turning point and if they decide to minimise the US involvement in that, the next US generations will hurt. Far-right is always bad, during turning points, it is far worse.

But this doesn’t mean hardliners (if they win the election) can entirely block the US involvement in the project. I’ve always criticized win-all or lose-all types of elections. This makes the political systems unstable because after 4 years or so the country might completely reverse its path, but in a more collision type of election the change in direction is smoother and therefore the political trajectory is more stable.

If a hardliner wins, the portion of Americans who oppose blocking the US involvement in the project will indeed be included in the project. So for the sake of this project, the US election will not be win-all or lose-all.

UPDATE 1:

“1 $=1 vote” summarizes the influence of money and lobbying in politics. Obviously, this is a negative phenomenon and any attempt to minimize that should be welcomed. One method is participation in socially beneficial activities. For example, since sustainable peace between Israel and Palestine is intentionally placed at the foundation level of the project mentioned earlier, any violence or any activity that aims to undermine the peace from either side will oppose the foundation of the project. Be it an individual’s violence or generous donations to support a specific cause or whatever. If the project is proven to be beneficial the cost of blocking the peace process will be increased.

This idea can be expanded to other fields such as environmental activism.
