Houthis, Hezbollah and Iran think insecurity in the Red Sea may persuade people around the world to put pressure on their governments to try to stop the war actively. However, while Netanyahu is at the helm, Israel’s government looks for an excuse to expand the war. They think it is in their interest to have a large-scale regional war. So, the Houthis’ strategy is hazardous. They put so much weight on a distant target (public opinion’s pressure) while ignoring enormous near costs (regional war).
While public opinion in Israel is turning against Netanyahu more and more it’s best for the people around the world to concentrate on politically opposing Netanyahu.
UPDATE 1:
Netanyahu fights for his own survival. But he intentionally says all the time that Israel is fighting for the civilized world (as a side note civilized means abiding by international laws). When Houthis make the Red Sea insecure, Israel will emphasize that it is fighting for the world.
UPDATE 2:
Thousands gather to support Israel. They want security for the Jewish state. It doesn’t mean they support genocide. It doesn’t mean they support making Palestine unlivable. It doesn’t mean they want insecurity for Palestinians. It’s vital for the global community to explain stable security is achieved only when there is an equilibrium in the system. Stability cannot be imposed by force. This is how the civilized world behaves: It doesn’t ignore how nature operates. The civilized world stands by the laws of nature, not against it.
Earth doesn’t wait for any person’s permission to orbit around the sun. It took centuries for the human civilization to figure it out.
